Join friends, coworkers and community leaders for the annual Cal Coast Cares Foundation Day of Golf to help raise funds to help local students and teachers. The Foundation’s 3rd annual golf event will be held Monday, October 19 at the Maderas Golf Club. This exciting day will include a round of socially-distanced golf, a delicious box lunch for participants and a silent auction filled with amazing items and packages.

Cal Coast President and CEO Todd Lane shared with GB Magazine “Now, more than ever, teacher grants and student scholarships can help local students and teachers through the challenges of distance and hybrid learning, and help ease the financial burden that may be tied to it.” The Day of Golf has been adapted to adhere to state and local COIVD-19 regulations and to ensure participants’ safety.
The Cal Coast Cares Foundation was created in 2015 as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit to continue California Coast Credit Union’s commitment in supporting the local education community. The funds raised during the Day of Golf will be used to provide college scholarships for local high school students and foster youth. Additionally, the funds raised will be used to provide grants for educators in the San Diego and Riverside Counties to fund projects related to the STREAM (Sciences, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math) fields. This year, the Foundation will award more than $120,000 in local scholarships and grants.
Recent scholarship recipient, Kacee Van Konynenburg, stated, “Receiving this scholarship means I can finish the last year of my graduate program in public health while maintaining financial stability! Thank you for investing in my academic success!”
The Day of Golf is just one of the two signature events for the Cal Coast Cares Foundation. The second event benefitting the Cal Coast Cares Foundation is the Illuminate Pathways reception, which is filled with exciting entertainment, exquisite food, and live and silent auctions. What makes Illuminate Pathways so unique is that it highlights the talents of students within the San Diego community. Local culinary students prepare mouthwatering bites and desserts, youth musicians perform beautifully and student scholarship recipients share what receiving a scholarship has meant to them. The event is currently scheduled for the spring of 2021.

With your participation or support for the Day of Golf, you are helping to provide much needed scholarships for local students and grants for teachers.
