A poisoned clown heart is no laughing matter and neither is going on with the show with such tragic affliction. The 2014 International Season of our city’s Opera is bridging a stunning set of works opening with the powerful Pagliacci by Leoncavallo. The Calabrian town villagers are about to witness more than just a performance from a small theatrical freshly arrived road company. Behind the scenes is another story of secrets, suspicion, jealousy, malice and defiance, all for a woman. Beyond the bizarre love triangle, the troupe lives unravel during their performance leaving the unassuming villagers shocked of the true tragedy of the comedy they won’t soon laugh off.
