The state of Jalisco and the frontier’s Californias are aiming sky-high for an explosion of Mexican culture. Celebrating San Diego’s Mariachi Scholarship Foundation’s 20 years, the Ballet Folklórico of the University of Guadalajara brings its half-century of traditions to downtown accompanied by their compatriots Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán. Joining the festivities will be our region’s own Symphonic Mariachi Champaña Nevin, Orquesta de Baja California, and the San Diego Binational Symphony Orchestra. The music and dance is set to Caliente, and its ardor knows no borders.
