Since 1976, Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum (AGSEM) has grown to become one of the premier educational and recreational facilities in North San Diego County. The Museum’s collection focuses on 1849 through the early 1960s era with exhibits that actively demonstrate early American life and technology. From clocks, looms, model trains, and tractors; they have something to pique everyone’s interest. Unique from traditional Museums, their collection is maintained in operating condition and used during a wide range of events.
Since its incorporation, AGSEM has become a parent organization to several other groups including: Vista Forge, N’ Scale Short Track Railroad, Palomar Handweavers at AGSEM, and West Coast Clock & Watch Exhibit.
The Museum is open daily (excluding Christmas Day and New Year’s Day) and they have special events throughout the year that include a Table Top Auction on March 15th, Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day on April 4th, and their Spring Antique Engine & Tractor Show in June. Most of the exhibits are open every day for public viewing. Only a few of the buildings are closed during certain days of the week; these exhibits are open on Saturdays; you can check their hours on our website. Every Second Saturday of each month they also host a Kids Free Day.
There are many educational opportunities at AGSEM including classes in Blacksmithing, for adults and kids, from a beginner’s level to expert. You can also come by on any Saturday and ask around to see if you can volunteer with an area you are interested in learning more about. From weaving to engine repair, there is something for everyone!
Desde 1976, el Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum (AGSEM) (Museo de la maquinas a gas y vapor antiguas) ha crecido hasta convertirse en uno de los lugares recreativos y educativos más importante del North San Diego County. La colección del museo se enfoca en el período que abarca desde 1849 hasta los primeros años de 1960, con exhibiciones que activamente dan muestra de la tecnología y estilo de vida americano de la época. Desde relojes, telares, maquetas de trenes, tractores, hay mucho que llama la atención. Único entre los museos tradicionales, su colección se mantiene operativa y es usada en varios eventos.

El museo está abierto diariamente (excepto en navidad y año nuevo) y cuentan con eventos especiales a lo largo del año como: una subasta de artículos para recaudar fondos el 15 de marzo, Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day el 14 de abril y la muestra de primavera de máquinas y tractores antiguos en junio. La mayoría de las exhibiciones están abiertas al público diariamente, solo algunos de los edificios se encuentran cerrados durante ciertos días de la semana. Estas exhibiciones se abren los sábados, recomendamos verificar los horarios en nuestro sitio web. El segundo sábado de cada mes es Día gratis para Niños.
