El Zapaton
New tennis shoes, warm socks and happy faces were all around at San Ysidro Health’s El Zapaton “Shoe-A-Thon.” The drive-thru event provided new shoes, book bags and other essentials to 500 children, the majority from households of this pandemic’s essential workforce. The idea for this event, comes from San Ysidro Health’s dedicated volunteer Rafael Garcia, a member of their Philanthropy Leadership Council and leader in the community.
En El Zapatón, organizado por el San Ysidro Health, se vieron zapatillas nuevas, medias calentitas y caritas felices. Este evento drive-thru entregó nuevas zapatillas, mochilas escolares y otros elementos esenciales a 500 niños, la mayoría provenientes hogares pertenecientes al personal esencial de la pandemia. La idea de este evento surgió del comprometido voluntario de la institución, Rafael García, líder de la comunidad y parte del Concejo de Liderazgo Filantrópico.
