There is no doubt that we are all living through a challenging time. We are proud to live in such a beautiful bi-national region with a strong sense of community.

For years, we have been amazed and inspired by the generosity of our readers. Philanthropy and humanity at its finest. Non-profit organizations of all sizes have seen and felt the positive impact of the people that call our region home.

Now in these challenging times, it is important to remember that this too shall pass, but the impact and effects it is having on our landscape are being felt now.

The cancellation of events is having an impact for non-profits of the region, so we ask that you remember your generosity and go forward as if the event was taking place. Look to see if there is an online component to support such as a silent auction or donation opportunity or simply make a donation.

If you need any help supporting an organization, please visit our website:

Contact your favorite charity, either online or by phone, and see what they need as we are all in this together. We highly suggest seeing how we can maintain a sense of normalcy and calm. We also invite you check our calendar for ideas. Consider bringing home a new family member and adopt a shelter animal, they will love you for it!

And last, but certainly not least, we need to remember to support our local businesses. Consider purchasing gift certificates, shop locally- either in store or online, get takeout or delivery and make a date night at home, and when you can, tip more than usual!

We as a community are strong, resilient and amazing. We have overcome much greater challenges. We will overcome this. Let’s just make sure to continue to Give Back to others, just as you always have.
