Founded in 1985, Options For All is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to become fully participating members of their communities. The organization serves 1,300 individuals who have Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, hearing and vision impairments, learning disabilities and are on the Autism spectrum. Offering a wide range of programs and services throughout the state of California including San Diego, San Bernardino, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and Riverside counties, Options For All is a recognized leader in the field.

Options For All launched their Film & Media Studio, their newest and most innovative service in San Diego in January 2017. In partnership with Joey Travolta and his Inclusion Films, the program comprises of four 20-week semesters. Students spend 25 hours each week learning all aspects of the film & media industry including developing a story line, script writing, story boarding, costume and set design, lighting, camera work, editing and sound mixing. Each semester, two film shorts are produced and added to Inclusion Networks, a subscription service for films created and produced by people with disabilities.

Options For All recently submitted two film shorts that were shown at the 2019 San Diego Film Week presented by the Film Consortium. The films Operation: Get the Hell Out of California and The Birds and The Wheels were written, directed and produced by individuals in Options For All’s Film & Media Studio in San Diego.

The third annual San Diego Film Week was held in 2019 and featured over 100 local films, as well as “Best-of” selections from many local film festivals including Film Out San Diego, GI Film Festival San Diego, San Diego Italian Film festival, San Diego International Film Festival, New Filmmakers LA, and the 48 hour Film project. San Diego Film Week culminated with the Annual San Diego Film Awards presented by KPBS in downtown San Diego.

At the momentous presentation, Options For All’s Film & Media Studio was awarded the coveted, Diversity in Film Award for 2019! Congratulations to their Film & Media students and team for achieving this amazing honor.
