Health Tips.
Today I am providing you “The Excuse List”. I hear this all the time; for example, I hear how people don’t have time to take care of themselves, to work out, and eat healthy. I am lucky to have a job that keeps me in shape, but I also know plenty of men and women that have regular jobs, are full time parents, and still manage to squeeze in the time to eat healthy and exercise each day.
Here is a list of excuses and their solution. Now get up and get moving!
1. I have a full-time job.
Solution: set the alarm a little before your regular wakeup time and go for a walk or a run. At first you will find it extremely difficult to get up earlier, but once you see how much more energy you have during the day, it will become a regular routine.
2. I don’t like to run or go to the gym.
There are plenty of things you can do that are neither running nor going to the gym. Walking is so simple yet so beneficial. Get a workout DVD and follow along. There are plenty of free Yoga and Pilates apps to download and follow along. There are plenty of alternatives and you have zero options to not do it.
3. I am a full-time parent.
Guess what? Most of us are. If you have time to blow dry your hair, get a pedicure, eat, or watch TV, you have time to fit in a workout. Walk with your babies, workout next to them, use them as weights, whatever it takes. I used to have a moveable crib and while my son was napping, I would get on the Stairmaster and do my workout.
4. I work at a desk.
Walk to lunch. Walk back. I see so many working business people at a boot camp class I go to. They take their lunch break, and work out. If you don’t have enough time or money to spend on the class. Take a walking lunch break, then eat lunch at your desk. Workout at your desk. Park at the far end of your parking lot!
5. I am running around all day so I don’t have time to eat healthy.
Really? Make healthy choices at lunch or at the store. It takes the same amount of time to put a chicken nugget in your mouth than it does a carrot stick.
