Rady Children’s Hospital.
The Rancho Santa Fe Unit of Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary has been helping children for the past fifty years giving time, resources and energy where most needed by the most innocent of our community. The Auxiliary is dedicated to supporting Rady Children’s Hospital by advocating for the health and wellbeing of children through increasing the community’s awareness and fundraising.
From October 28th to 30th of this year, an extraordinary gala titled “Mystic Nights” will be the first destination fundraiser to be held at Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico at the magnificent Gran Velas Hotel. Through the combined efforts of Co-Chairs Sandra den Uijl and Charo Garcia Guerra, this destination gala fundraiser will break the mold and go outside of California for the first time offering a select one hundred couples a unique opportunity to help raise funds for Rady Children’s Hospital.
Sandra den Uijl first got involved with the Rancho Santa Fe Auxiliary Unit eight years ago as a way to participate in the community and share her passion of helping others. Charo Garcia Guerra met Sandra during this time. Both share a love for giving back and have created a very special bond and friendship. With both being creative and pushing the other to think outside the box, they created “Mystic Nights”, the first destination gala.
The “Mystic Nights” fundraiser will benefit The Endowment for Neuroscience at the Rady Pediatric Genomics Institute and will help to change the future of pediatric medicine by funding an endowed Chair, world class scientists and researchers with clinicians focusing on preventing, diagnosing, treating and curing neurological diseases through genomics and systems medicine research including DNA sequencing, bioinformatics, training, education and funding in perpetuity. A first in San Diego and the United States, Sandra and Charo have planned an unforgettable weekend as they fundraise for the Genomics Institute of Rady Children’s Hospital. Join them on the adventure!
