The Memorias de Fuego exhibition is being presented at the Cubo at Cecut in Tijuana through February 15. The Mexican artist José Hugo Sánchez presents in his exposition the relationship between the United States and Mexico, mythologies and the situations that happen across the border. Sánchez grew up on the border and his exposition touches themes on migration, images of neo-Mexicanism, kitsch, the art of vernacular, graffiti and more. Sanchez comments, “I embodied the border, but then I understood the border was spread across many borders and the people living near them were always changing, just like my being.”
