San Diego’s Media Maven

In an industry where women make up only 16 percent of the television station managers in the country, we are lucky to have Margarita Wilder at the helm of Entravision, the media company that includes 6 broadcast channels in San Diego and Tijuana, including the two most recognized Spanish language stations in the region. As Senior Vice President, Margarita oversees Univision, Telemundo, Telefutura, My TV and MundoFox, and has left her mark of success for all these media outlets.

A graduate of University of Texas El Paso with a degree in Special Education, she began her broadcasting career with Entravision in 1991 in El Paso. Before moving to San Diego in 2010, Margarita had managed the Entravision media outlets in Albuquerque, New Mexico. During her 13-year stay in Albuquerque, Margarita brought the stations to new levels of success. “I believe that there is one key to success that has always defined my career: love what you do. There is nothing I would rather do than oversee Entravision Spanish and English Language television stations,” Margarita comments to Giving Back Magazine.

Margarita’s dedication to the community extends beyond her work as she supports those around her through her charitable work. In San Diego, she serves on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Red Cross and the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Margarita Wilder’s visionary leadership in Hispanic media, respect in the business community and strong support of others has created respect and admiration from those how know her and benefit from her presence in our region.
