Rancho Santa Fe
Rancho Santa Fe is a community of large properties and estates; a place for horses or fruit orchards. Founded in the early 1920s by the Santa Fe Railroad which planted thousands of eucalyptus trees it intended to use for railroad ties. When that particular wood was not strong enough for their purposes, they started a community instead. Rancho Santa Fe has many top golf courses, horse stables, excellent elementary schools (public and private) and one of the County’s top restaurants, Mille Fleur.
How does a buyer make the decision between these excellent choices?
1. Consider desired proximity to work, schools, airport, train, Orange County or LA.
2. Consider desired proximity to sports activities, theatre and arts, shopping/restaurants, also, friends or family.
3. Determine budget to purchase and maintain – remember, solar panels, and drought tolerant landscaping and drip systems have moderated the financial impact, especially for larger estates.
