The marvelous sustainable research facilities at the J. Craig Venter Institute in La Jolla held a spectacular gala for their Life at the Speed of Light event. The elegant annual soiree is a perfect opportunity for supporters to have a direct impact on the course of modern medicine through genomics exploration. Guests were treated to cocktails, dinner, special VIP speakers and dancing to Gypsy jazz music. Funds raised aid the laboratory work, student outreach programs and continue the extraordinary advances in genomics.
