A lavish tropical escape featuring refreshing cocktails, culinary delights, rousing auctions and live music is waiting to be uncovered at Helen Woodward Animal Center’s 32nd Annual Spring Fling Gala: Jewels of the Earth Presented by EDCO. The journey begins Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Fairbanks Ranch Country Club in Rancho Santa Fe. Guests will delight their senses during their evening escape indulging in 5-star dining experiences featuring tapas-style portions from San Diego’s finest restaurants.
The Spring Fling Gala is a celebration of the “jewels” that support Helen Woodward Animal Center and the non-profit’s biggest fundraising event of the year. The private organization in Rancho Santa Fe has 13 unique programs all dedicated to the mission of people helping animals and animals helping people.
The 2020 Spring Fling Gala committee is made up of passionate supporters of orphan pets. They are thrilled to invite guests on a luxurious tropical journey throughout the evening bringing the Jewels of the Earth theme to life with the incredible floral creations of Joel Garlejo.
Back to co-chair the Spring Fling Gala for the second year in a row is longtime Center friend and supporter Jamie Carr and animal-lover Erin Combs. Other committee chairs include Vicki Brown and Mary Cuzens who are volunteering their planning talents to the big event. Keeping up with her tradition, Committee Restaurant Chair Ann Dizney has secured an impressive lineup of restaurants serving up delicious tastings from The Fish Market, Bluewater Grill – Carlsbad, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and Poseidon on the Beach.
In addition to a captivating culinary journey, guests will delight in sweet treats and a meet and greet with Center therapy pets and adorable adoptable puppies, as well as local beer, wine and spirits while enjoying live entertainment from Haute Chile. Plus, the night will include exciting live and silent auctions featuring over 150 items, including vacation homes, airline miles, fine jewelry and more. The live auction will feature impressive trips including exotic destinations in Thailand, Maui and Oahu.
Guests will be moved by life-saving animal stories that highlight the work being done to transfer pets in need from all over the country to the Center to find loving homes and the Center’s efforts to feed more than 7,500 pets in need served by the AniMeals program each year.
