The seven young board members who started Heels2Heal in 2009 are dedicated philanthropists whose mission is to support local non-profit organizations that promote healing and education for underprivileged, critically ill, and abused women and children by raising funds through their annual Fashion Gala in La Jolla.
This year, they have chosen to make a significant contribution to Miracle Babies, a local nonprofit that provides financial and emotional assistance to families with critically ill newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. These fragile babies and families are in desperate need of support, which led Heels2Heal to choose Miracle Babies, as all members are devoted mothers who want to help less fortunate mothers and families at a most crucial time. Heels2Heal board member Nahieli Caldwell experienced first-hand the pain associated with having her newborn sent to the NICU two years ago. “Having a baby is the ultimate miracle of life,” Caldwell tells Giving Back Magazine.
Heels2Heal will hold its third Annual Fashion Gala on November 3 at a private estate in La Jolla to benefit Miracle Babies featuring an interactive-style fashion show by New York based designer Nellie Partow. The highly anticipated silent and live auction will feature the most desirable trips and excursions, sure to have guests’ in a bidding frenzy and cuisine prepared by San Diego’s finest restaurants and chefs.
Emceeing this soiree will be event Chair Kimberly King and big-personality, Go Country 105 radio host, Shawn Parr, a voice familiar through the Golden Globes and The American Music Awards.
