Nearly 300 community members and officers attended the Gold Shield Gala presented by the San Diego Police Foundation at the Del Mar Country Club. The program featured a memorable address by Police Chief Shelley Zimmerman, live auction, a skit with police sirens and lights, and music. A cameo appearance by one of America’s Finest Canine Unit teams highlighted the special cause for the evening, the K9 Crime Fighters Campaign. Funds raised will help create a safer San Diego by funding equipment, training and outreach programs for the men and women who wear the gold shield.
