In February, Girls Inc. of San Diego County will begin its Professional Women’s Speaker Series – a quarterly event wherein strong, smart and bold women in San Diego share the journeys they have taken to career success.
The new year will also bring new opportunities for any girls in San Diego to participate in Girls Mean Business: S.T.E.M., an educational series for girls and their parents that encourages interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. These workshops include speakers with jobs in industries such as biotech, medicine, architecture, civil engineering, marine biology and more, followed by a hands-on activity related to the S.T.E.M. field. Inspiring role models from the community are encouraged to volunteer as speakers and companies are invited to sponsor girls to attend these workshops.
