The Chula Vista Challenge Triathlon, the most scenic and challenging Olympic distance triathlon in San Diego, is taking place on Sunday October 16th. The event promotes the sport of triathlon, provides a positive environment for participants to challenge themselves mentally and physically, and highlights the community of Chula Vista. Many participants and spectators who were unfamiliar with Chula Vista will now have the opportunity to see all that the city has to offer. Also, a portion of the proceeds will benefit several local charities.
The triathlon course will be challenging and fun; venturing inland on a picturesque course. The swim will start at San Diego Bay, the biking will go through the scenic hills of Eastlake and the run will explore trails overlooking Otay Lakes and the Olympic Training Center. The race has been created by local triathletes Michael Drury and Francisco Villasenor both Ironman finishers who thought it was time to go east of the I-5 Freeway to race on the beautiful roads and trails of Chula Vista.
We invite you to take the Chula Vista Challenge!
