10 Things About Christina Jordan and the Nemeth Foundation
#1 I grew up in the beautiful beach town of Leucadia, happily ensconced between two brothers.
#2 I raised sheep with 4-H and each year, I would auction them off at the Del Mar Fair. I made enough money to pay for cheerleading and even saved enough for college expenses.
#3 My favorite go to restaurants are True Foods and Seasons 52.
#4 Remi, my Labrador, “noodle” was the best friend I could ask for.
#5 My favorite movie is “Rudy” – a story about never giving up, and never losing focus of your dream. Best movie of all time! I love a good underdog.
#6 If I could have lunch with any one person, it would be with Princess Diana. Although she is no longer with us, her presence left an indelible mark on my heart and my soul. She handled her very public life with confidence, grace and with a twinkle in her eye that told the world she was going to be ok.
#7 I was introduced to the world of Philanthropy in college when I was appointed the position of Philanthropy Chair for my sorority. We raised funds for Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. But, my true love of this profession started in 2002 when I began my career with the Sharp Health Care Foundation. During my 16-year tenure with Sharp, I was on the fundraising team to build the new Sharp Memorial Tower, a $60 million campaign as well as the establishment of the fundraising efforts for the neonatal research institute, creating global impact for NICU babies (my most profound accomplishment).
#8 While at Sharp Health Care I was introduced to the Nemeth Foundation. The Alexander and Eva Nemeth Foundation has three pillars of philanthropy to guide the way – Animal Welfare, Community Progress and Medical Advancement. It’s the position I have been waiting for all my life. It’s an honor to represent such a generous family.
#9 Working with the Nemeth Foundation has provided me the opportunity to meet new, philanthropically minded people, engage in insightful conversations about the future of medicine to how we’re handling the essential needs facing our community.
#10 The impact of the Nemeth Foundation has touched so many in our community – the power of philanthropy – simply put, is inspiring.
