In a time when technology consumes such a large part of our lives, Children’s Nature Retreat offers a unique experience to reinvigorate our connection with nature. The retreat is focused on fostering this relationship, by creating a powerful program that pairs fun and educational aspects for a memorable experience. While the retreat’s primary goal is to spark our youngest generation’s interest in the environment and the animals that inhabit it, they also seek to provide an opportunity for the entire family to rekindle their love for the world around them.
To make this vision a reality, the non-profit organization established a 20-acre ranch-style retreat which is now home to nearly 100 animals who have been adopted and given the opportunity for a better life. During a trip to the Children’s Nature Retreat, visitors are immersed in interactive presentations, unstructured learning opportunities and a hands-on experience.
The passionate, friendly staffed can help guide your visit as you spend time at the many different stations with various activities such as canvas painting, or as you roam through the spacious grounds. The animals at the retreat are friendly and love to interact with visitors, you can even to even take part in feeding livestock from around the world!
Unlike many of the other great local family outing destinations, Children’s Nature Retreat allows for an up-close, in-depth nature experience that cannot be duplicated. The open space provides room for everyone to enjoy their environment as they would like, whether that be a scenic picnic, hiking through the trails, or spending one-on-one time with some of the animals.
