The path to an enhanced travel experience
Cross Border Xpress was founded on innovation and connecting families with a firm commitment to the safety of its passengers, guests and staff. To keep with these principals and ensure an enduring and resilient enterprise despite the onset of COVID-19, an array of safety, health and hygiene measures were swiftly implemented alongside technological advances to streamline the international travel process; all while supporting our local communities in the Cali Baja Binational Mega-Region.
When traveling through CBX and the Tijuana International Airport, passengers can have confidence the facilities are operated in accordance with global standardized protocols. Travelers can also utilize the CBX APP or website to find complete details on important travel requirements and how they can be completed prior to their arrival at the CBX terminal to make their travel a touchless experience. Important items to prepare for a touchless experience include, a pre-purchased CBX ticket, airline boarding pass, health and travel history questionnaire (required for all southbound travelers) and any other applicable immigration forms.
In addition to providing passengers a safe way to travel, CBX launched important technological improvements with Volaris and Viva Aerobús, allowing for real-time connectivity between their shared systems. Passengers who purchase their CBX tickets in conjunction with their airfare can enjoy the ease of scanning either their CBX ticket or boarding pass to access the CBX bridge.
CBX and U.S. and Customs Border Protection also recently implemented Biometric Facial Comparison technology, modernizing the entry process and identity verification.
Despite the negative impact of COVID-19 on the travel industry last year, CBX remained committed to supporting our binational community by leading two key initiatives. Those efforts were recognized by the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce during their International Tribute Awards where CBX was recognized as the Cross Border Hero of the year for raising over $100,000 to provide food security for those in need.
