The Bow Wow Buddies Foundation grew out of Camp Bow Wow’s (a Premier Dog Daycare and Overnight Dog Boarding Facility) passion for and dedication to the health and happiness of animals everywhere. The Foundation is dedicated to promoting the health and welfare of animals worldwide by focusing on finding foster and lifetime homes for unwanted animals, promoting humane education and investing in research and treatment for those pets devastated by illness and disease.
The Bow Wow Buddies Foundation addresses three H’s: Home, Health and Humanity.
Home – Every dog deserves a loving home. The Foundation works with Camp Bow Wow franchisees such as camp Bow Wow in El Cajon to provide foster care and facilitate adoptions for homeless pets. Since 2003, over 10,000 animals have found fur-ever homes.
Health – Working to find a cure for canine and feline cancer is one of their top priorities. They sponsor a full-time oncology student at Colorado State University Flint Animal Cancer Center. The work translates out nationally to other Animal Cancer Centers and is shared with The Children’s Hospital Network because of the similarities between childhood and canine cancer.
Humanity – All animals have the same basic needs – food, water, shelter and love.
The Scout’s Angels initiative is a network of therapy dogs and their human counterparts that are deployed around the country in times of crisis or need. The Scout’s Angel’s Canine Care Team has made two trips to Newtown, CT to provide love, comfort and healing for the town recovering from unthinkable tragedy through the love of dogs.
