Developing Treatment Options.
For nearly 30 years, Blaise Barrelet has been making a name for himself as a leading tech innovator. Mr. Barrelet began his career in the Silicon Valley as a hardware and software engineer which fueled his growing affinity for data driven business. At just 20 years old, Mr. Barrelet founded WebSideStory Inc., one of the first internet companies in San Diego. He is the now the CEO of CureMatch Inc. and founding managing partner of Analytics Ventures which creates companies based on the talents of local scientists in an effort to build business locally.
After being diagnosed with a form of Leukemia, Blaise was not satisfied with his prognosis. He decided to take matters into his own hands, not only for himself, but for his wife and kids. Mr. Barrelet hunkered down to do intensive research and came across technology that had been developed locally to organize insurmountable drug combinations into a functional personalized combination therapy guide. With a 5 year life expectancy, Blaise decided to put his faith in combination therapy.
Inspired by the results of his personal treatment, Mr. Barrelet helped launch CureMatch Inc. The digital health company provides a platform for oncologists to more accurately select cancer-treating medications that are tailored to an individual patient’s needs. They are also in process of launching the CureMatch Foundation which will provide care to children who would otherwise be unable to receive potentially life-saving combination therapy.
Mr. Barrelet’s philosophy can be summarized as active community engagement. He believes that giving back is about helping companies make San Diego better, improving the quality of life, and empowering people. His passion and humanitarian spirit are an inspiration to us all. To say the efforts of everyone at CureMatch have made a significant impact on the lives of many would be an understatement, we have no doubt that they will revolutionize cancer treatment as we know it.
