The holiday season is a traditional opportunity to give gifts to those who most need them, and this is the reason that Univision Radio San Diego held their “Abrigando Corazones” (Warming Hearts) campaign. The purpose of the campaign is to collect items needed for the colder winter months. In order to do this, two radio stations, 102.9 Más Variedad and Que Buena 106.5, came together for the first time for the common good of inspiring their listeners to donate blankets, sweatshirts, coats, scarves and sweaters for needy children, adults and families in need. The on-air personalities that gave light to the campaign were JC Munguía, Hada Luna, Juanito Cedeño and Mery Lopez-Gallo from 102.9 Mas Variedad and Alex Navarro el Ojitos, El Regalón, Luis Sánchez el Compaye and Milton Andrade el Jarocho from Que Buena 106.5. The radio listeners had the opportunity to drop off their donations at two local shopping centers and the result was overwhelming.

All the donated items were given to South Bay Community Services, who then distributed them to those in need to keep warm this holiday season.

With this community outreach campaign, Univision Radio was able to unite listeners from the two most-listened to radio stations in San Diego and was able to warm the hearts of those most in need.
