Supporting Adaptive Sports And Recreation Programs

The La Jolla Festival of the Arts is one of the most prestigious juried art shows in the country and will once again showcase a weekend featuring 190 of the west’s finest artists, entertainment and an enticing selection of delicious cuisines, wines and craft beers. Guests will enjoy the Festival’s sophisticated and relaxed environment on the turf of UCSD’s Warren Field on June 22-23.

The Festival has established a legacy of supporting local charities and organizations. Now well into its third decade, the La Jolla Festival of the Arts started as a small fundraiser for the Torrey Pines Kiwanis Club. The once-small Festival has now blossomed into a much-anticipated regional event that raises tens of thousands of dollars for disabled persons throughout San Diego. All funds raised will support rehabilitative programs for disabled veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Since its inception 1987, the Festival has raised over one million dollars.

“This is not a street fair, but an elegant Festival of Art and Entertainment in an intimate setting surrounded with the aroma of delicious cuisines and your favorite fine wine and craft beer,” Festival Director Ken Caplan tells Giving Back Magazine. “Who knew that an art festival could be so exhilarating and do so much good?”

If you are passionate about fine art and supporting adaptive sports and recreation activities for San Diegans with disabilities, visit the Festival on June 22-23. Purchase tickets on-line at www.ljfa.org
