San Diego RiteCare Childhood Language Center.
The San Diego RiteCare Childhood Language Center (CLC) has impacted the lives of local children since 1981. Their efforts are designed to help children who would otherwise not have access to speech therapy. Each child can receive up to $7,000 in customized care at no cost to the family. The organization has provided free speech and communication services to children in need through programs that are specially developed for each child.
These individualized therapy programs are made up of two components. The first part provides professional services twice a week where children are provided with personalized care. As parent involvement is critical to improvement, they are allowed to listen in so they can apply the child’s progress to the second portion of the program at home.
San Diego RiteCare, established by the Scottish Rite Valley of San Diego, is not funded by the government making donations imperative to the organization’s success. To raise awareness and financial resources, the nonprofit holds two annual events, the Robert Burns Supper in February, and the Independence Day Dinner, which will be held on June 3rd, 2017. If you would like to donate or participate, you can contact them at (619) 291-2506 or visit www.sdritecare.org.
