Hope, Healing and Prevention.
For nearly 50 years, Center for Community Solutions has been providing life-changing services to victims of relationship and sexual violence. The organization provides comprehensive services and resources that serve as stepping stones to end relationship and sexual violence by being a catalyst for caring communities and social justice.
CCS has dedicated themselves to this mission by implementing a strategic plan that provides assistance to those in need every step of the way to their freedom. From prevention to healing, CCS is a beacon of hope through their countywide 24-hour bilingual hotline, emergency domestic shelters, hospital and court accompaniment, as well as legal and counseling services.
CEO and Executive Director, Verna Griffin-Tabor, leads CCS with 20 years of experience in the sexual assault and relationship violence field. Verna has dedicated her life to this cause and has been honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award and Andrea O’Donnell Award by the San Diego Domestic Violence Council as well as the Distinguished Citizen Award by the San Diego Bar Association.
To further support their efforts, Center for Community Solutions will be hosting their Tea & Tonic event on April 7th to celebrate those who have stood by the organization including volunteers, sponsors and local businesses. Terry Crews, who has been personally affected by and very outspoken about domestic violence, will be the Celebrity Keynote Speaker. The event is also means of funding their services which are essential to the San Diego Community, touching the lives of over 10,000 people each year.
