Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego (BGCGSD).
For more than 75 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego (BGCGSD) has had a distinguished history as a youth non-profit organization in San Diego County. Established in Logan Heights in 1941, the Boys Club of San Diego was the first Boys Club built in San Diego County. Since then, the agency has grown to include 20 sites and is the second largest Boys & Girls Club agency in California, covering almost 45% of San Diego County. Their mission is to inspire and enable youth to achieve academic success, build good character and responsible citizenship, and make healthy lifestyle choices.
Their three priority outcomes - academic excellence, healthy lifestyles and character development - help create a positive and lasting impact on thousands of youth ages 5-18 through the wide variety of enrichment programs, activities, and services offered. In 2017, they provided 12,582 youth members with after-school programming, overall serving 30,734 youth throughout the county.
Through after school programs and day camps, BGCGSD seeks to promote the social, emotional, mental and physical development of boys and girls during critical periods of their growth. They offer youth what they need and want most – adults who respect and listen, a safe environment where they can have fun, and interesting, constructive activities.
To support their mission, An Evening of Changing Lives will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. Guests will enjoy an evening featuring live entertainment by the classic rock band, STARSHIP Featuring Mickey Thomas. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego invites you to Change Lives by joining as a community partner for this very special event and invest in the future of San Diego’s youth.
