Olp

Class of 2017.

For 135 years, the Academy of Our Lady of Peace has been educating young women in the spirit of excellence, with a commitment to innovation which so aptly characterizes the school’s founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Graduates from OLP are leaders in our world, our nation and our communities.

OLP cultivates women of faith, women of heart and women of courage who are poised to pursue careers across the most competitive industries. Just this year the school saw 40 percent of its graduating Class of 2017 choose to pursue STEM majors, compared with only 16 percent of co-ed graduates nationwide.

The graduating Class of 2017, with 177 students, received more than 897 offers of admission to 236 unique universities in the U.S. and worldwide. More than 67 percent of the graduating class received merit-based scholarship offers at top universities, totaling more than $27.1 million. In addition, the class received more offers of admission than any other graduating class in OLP’s history, including acceptances to all but one of the Ivy League Colleges they applied to! This class also enjoyed acceptances to the top research institutions, including multiple acceptances to all UC campuses and Stanford.

OLP women are not only well prepared academically, but are also encouraged to explore their unique passions. Their access to Engineering, Bio-Technology, Genetics and Architecture, partnered with Honors Choir, Theater Set Design, AP Art, AP Art History and String Orchestra, provides them insight into many of the most sought-after careers and collegiate opportunities.

Two, among many notable standouts, include Daniella Gomez-Ochoa ’17, who will be attending Harvard University, and Paulina Halley ’17, who will be attending Yale University. Paulina was also accepted and offered scholarships to three additional Ivy League Schools: Boston College, Brown University and University of Pennsylvania. She was also accepted to Georgetown University and Duke University.
