Patrons of the Prado held the unveiling of the 2018 Masterpiece Gala at the Mingei International Museum. The dedicated committee also handed out the checks to 10 extraordinary entities on the Prado in Balboa Park for which they raised funds from this past year! The University of San Diego’s Founders Gala represented two great causes this year, the Founders Endowed Scholarship Fund and a new, endowed scholarship fund for USD student veterans. The momentous occasion was celebrated by guests dressed elegantly while enjoying the Swarovski Sparkle Station, dinner and inspiring speeches. This elegant event is held every other year and brings together alumni, parents, trustees and friends in the spirit of philanthropy.
Animal shelters across the county teamed up with NBC and Telemundo stations to find loving homes for pets in need. Fees were waived at the third annual Clear the Shelters event, a nationwide pet adoption initiative with had local participation from San Diego Humane Society, Chihuahua Rescue of San Diego, San Diego House Rabbit Society and more.
Champagne, delectable food and boutique shopping were part of the annual tradition of The Art of Fashion benefitting The Country Friends. Co-chairs Maggie Bobileff and Denise Hug hosted a memorable event with a breathtaking fashion show featuring high-end designers. Proceeds from the event benefitted local care agencies.
Since 1918, Jewish Family Service of San Diego has been a trusted community resource for individuals and families in times of need. A dinner was held to thank supporters of Jewish Family Service who is always a lifeline for someone in need. Friends and family enjoyed a lovely evening mingling as the sun set and a beautiful autumn evening set in.
The Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego and the Institute of the Americas hosted a lively evening with traditional Mexican foods, candies entertainment- even tequila tastings! The cause for this celebration was Mexican Independence Day, when Mexico gained independence from Spain in 1821. ¡Viva México!
The beautiful greens of the Country Club of Rancho Bernardo were filled with philanthropic golfers supporting Volunteers of America Southwest for their 18th Annual Celebrity Golf Classic. In addition to a challenging yet enjoyable round of golf, sponsors partook in an auction as well as raffles all benefitting the mission to change the lives of vulnerable individuals by providing services and tools to improve their quality of life.
KAZ Design Group, representing Ligne Roset & Poliform, hosted a grand opening reception that was nothing short of a complete success! The 6,000 square foot showroom was packed full of industry leaders and La Jolla locals, along with sounds provided by a live DJ and a saxophonist. The crowd also enjoyed a variety of wines, spirits and hors d’oeuvres while admiring the vast and contemporary collections of kitchens, closets and furniture.
Black tie and finely dressed guests spent the evening admiring the beauty of the sun, moon, and stars at the “Celestial Serenade” themed Miracle Babies 8th Annual Gala. Many generous sponsors were eager to support their premature birth research and services by the gala which featured cocktails, dinner and dancing under giant illuminated planets and disco balls!
Supporters of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego joined ROMP’s Honorary Chairs, Executive Committee and generous benefactors for a preview and cocktail in anticipation of the upcoming gala. For many years RMHCSD has provided a home away from home to families with children being treated for serious condition at local San Diego hospitals.
