Members of the organization work with many charities including Meals on Wheels, the Food Bank, I Love A Clean San Diego, Las Patronas and many more. At the event, new members of the Class of 2016 were introduced and paid respects to the outgoing class of 2010 for their exemplary service.


heard-it-through-the-grapevineThe Milagros Auxiliary Unit of Rady's Children Hospital held its 50th annual international food and wine tasting. This year the Unit has designated the funds from the event to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. On beautiful sunny afternoon guests enjoyed a silent auction while tasting food from restaurants and wine from all over San Diego. More than 370 guests enjoyed wines from 19 vineyards and food from 12 restaurants in La Jolla and Del Mar.


gold-diggersMany creative hats were seen at the Gold Diggers 17th annual Hats Off to San Diego-Through the Looking Glass at the Prado in Balboa Park. Local charitable organizations competed in a spectacular Hat Parade all in good fun to help raise funds for The San Diego Food Bank's programs and The Angel's Depot.


A-Night-of-Magic-and-MedicineThe founders of The Fishman Fund, Mary Bradley and Reena Horowitz invited ninety guests to the beautiful hilltop home of Erna and Andrew Viterbi. Guests arrived to a cocktail reception in a beautiful sculpture court bounded by an infinity pool. True to the name of the event, a magic show complete with disappearing rabbits, card tricks and one-liners thrilled the crowd. The Fishman Fund honors outstanding Sanford-Burnham postdoctoral fellows with a financial award, providing an incentive for young scientists to further their professional development.

Eat-Drink-ReadSadly there are adults who face the daily struggle of not being able to read and write. The San Diego Council on Literacy held a food and wine fest at Sushi Performance and Visual Art to raise awareness and funds. Event chairs Jon Bailey along with a supportive committee are focused in making a difference and enhancing the levels of literacy in San Diego.

Sounds-of-TijuanaMercedes Benz and Chivas Regal were among the many sponsors for a fun filled event called Sounds of Tijuana. The city's younger generation came together to show that elegance and fashion is what night life in this city is really about. Organized locally, this event showcased modern music in a classical setting where style, trends and beauty abounded.

ten-daysOver 350 people attended the premiere of Ten Days a film by Daniel Gonzalez at The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in La Jolla. A film with many local ties including producers, actors and investors such as Robert Mani and May Zawaideh were proud to be in attendance. The film is a story about synchronicity, chance meetings and surprising connections captivating the audience in a capacity filled room received with much applause.

La-Bella-DurmienteCamafeo, a nonprofit theater organization in Tijuana produced a spectacular stage rendition of Sleeping Beauty to help raise funds for the diverse needs of the region. The organization is a group of professional women who want to give back to the community and demonstrate that not only does Tijuana have art, but it also possesses a big heart.

Marisela-SandovalDelia Mercado and Marisela P. Sandoval invited friends and family to celebrate Marisela Sandoval's wedding shower. Intricately decorated in an incredibly ornate Indian theme, the party in Coronado was attended by guests from San Diego and Tijuana. Women wore colorful Indian saris and bindis making the theme complete.

mcasdThe Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego hosted its seventh Benefit Art Auction at their La Jolla museum. The night featured a live and silent auction of artworks by both internationally recognized and emerging contemporary artists. Guests enjoyed informal curator tours, hors d'oeuvres and the presence of auctioneer August O. Uribe, the Vice President of Sotheby's New York. The night help raise funds for the Museum's education programs and future art acquisitions. The art was unique, the bidding heated but the night amazing a fun filled.
