To commemorate the end of a successful year, Las Patronas hosted their New Members Luncheon and announced the 2011 Jewel Ball theme; Sapphire! Sixteen new members were introduced and welcomed to the group at the La Jolla Country Club. Towards the end of lunch they announced that the final proceeds from this year's gala Heart+Soul was over $780,000.
Fashionistas, supporters and friends gathered at Ligne Roset in La Jolla for a fashion show celebrating the latest in European designs from Melero Boutique and Gallery to help raise funds for the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. Guests arriving in style were greeted by elegant vehicles from Nstyle Limousine and models wearing the new winter and resort collections, as well as Ligne Roset's latest arrivals.
Linda Brandes opened up her home hosting the most successful Lux Art Institute event ever. The evening included a VIP reception, martini bar and exquisite food as guests enjoyed music by the Len Rainey Band and Samba Dancers. Funds raised support Lux's international artist in residency programs and youth arts education programs in schools throughout San Diego.

Gucci in South Coast Plaza and David Copley hosted a private cocktail party benefiting the San Diego Symphony. This unique event entitled The Artisan Corner brought the craftsmanship of Gucci's Florentine leather goods factory directly to its clientele. The artisans were flown in from Italy to assemble some of Gucci's most iconic handbags and leather goods in exotic leathers, special colors and customized options.
More than one hundred and seventy golf players, among them prominent businessmen from both sides of the border, formed part of the tenth annual Saverios Cup. Three days of celebrations took place starting throughout the city including the golf tournament at Club Campestre, a dinner at Saverios restaurant, and closing with a seafood dinner.
Hospital Infantil de las Californias hosted the first ever private performance in San Diego by Emmylou Harris. Guests enjoyed a dinner and live auction in a tent overlooking the ocean at the estate of Joan Waitt. Proceeds from the evening will help support the expansion of the Hospital in Tijuana
People from the community gathered in a private home in Rancho Santa Fe for an evening fundraiser for the Human Development Foundation. The organization focuses on cultivating brilliance by helping gifted children from low income families obtain educational opportunities. The highlight of the night was the exceptional wines, including old and private vintages.
Television personality Zeji Ozeri worked with Broadway San Diego and Telemundo33 to bring a group of orphans from Tijuana across the border to experience Disney's Beauty and the Beast, their first ever Broadway show. After the show the cast met the children and signed autographs, bringing smiles and tears of happiness to the faces of all. GB Magazine was proud to be present!
