Months of work came together flawlessly in a spectacular black tie gala chaired by Phyllis and John Parrish. With the support of an impressive committee, the night of dinner and dancing at the US Grant hotel raised funds for The Arc of San Diego, a nonprofit provider of services for over 2,500 children and adults with disabilities. The night culminated with a bidding war for several unique items- cheerleading with the Chargers, travels to New York and possibly the cutest puppy ever.
Comedian Bill Cosby brought his legendary and timeless humor to The Grand Del Mar for the Rancho Santa Fe Unit of Rady Children's Hospital. This 14th annual fundraiser benefitted the Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. Guests arrived in cocktail attire to a silent auction and an informal dinner atmosphere with a variety of food selections concluding with a comedy presentation with dessert and dancing until late.
The annual Nordstrom Designer Preview runway show, one of the most anticipated fashion events of the year, was recently held at The New Children's Museum. The event marks the opportunity to view the latest designs of the spring collections from renowned American and European designers. Guests also enjoyed a special on-site merchandise boutique to showcase the collections featured on the runway.
Jewish Family Services held its annual Heart & Soul gala to help raise funds for their programs for adoption, counseling, crisis, family violence, senior and youth services among others. The event recognized the accomplishments of Alberta and Charles Feurzeig, Felicia Mandelbaum and Michael London for their commitment to the community.
The National Conflict Resource Center, a San Diego based non-profit organization, presented the 2010 Peacemaker Awards, a nationally-renowned distinction honoring individuals that are dedicated to peacemaking. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour before a dinner and ceremony at the Sheraton Harbor Island. This year the honorees were Doug Green and the Carlsbad High School Broadcasting Team for their film "We Must Remember" and General Michael Lehnert for his peacemaking work at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Fashion Careers College held the 23rd Annual Golden Hanger Fashion Awards Gala celebrating 30 years of fashion in San Diego since the college's founding in 1979. The sold out event featured the collections of sixteen FCC Designers and Special Golden Hanger Fashion Awards were given to Honorees for their contribution to the San Diego community. Proceeds from the evening benefitted the Make-A-Wish Foundation of San Diego and Variety Children's Lifeline.
