classic-carA Sunday afternoon with a perfect oceanfront locale set the stage for the 7th annual La Jolla Motor Car Classic. Vintage auto aficionados and collectors gathered to pay tribute to some of the world's finest motorcars. German automobiles were the featured marquee this year in addition to highlighting over 30-juried classes of splendid autos. The event, sponsored by Symbolic Motor Car Company of La Jolla, helped raised funds for the La Jolla Historic Society and The Monarch School.

charity-leagueThe San Diego chapter of the National Charity League recognized the work of their 300 members at its yearly "Awards and Hours" luncheon held in beautiful Mission Bay. The premier mother-daughter organization volunteered nearly 10,000 hours to various charitable causes from St. Vincent de Paul to the San Diego Food Bank among others. Since 1973, the local chapter has provided valuable philanthropic leadership and cultural experiences through hands-on volunteer support.

carrouselMore than three hundred of San Diego's philanthropic leaders, elected officials, and community members arrived for The Arc of San Diego's Annual Gala, The Jewels of San Diego. Phyllis Parrish, along with her team of tireless volunteers organized a beautiful Saturday luncheon decorated in line with the event's Carrousel du Louvre theme. Proceeds from the event help provide essential services to people with disabilities in San Diego and their families.

carnavalAn evening of intrigue, midway games of chance, juggling acts and live circus entertainment, along with fine food, auctions and live music took place at the American Cancer Society's Carnivale Royale Gala. Doug and Nancy Barnhart along with Charles and Anne Dick co-chaired the event and helped raise funds for cancer research, education and patient service programs.

beachThe Beach & Country Guild, celebrating their 42nd anniversary this year, held their annual New Member Brunch at the?lovely Rancho Santa Fe home of Sue Hoffmeister. Each year, the current Guild invites a select group of new, hardworking and dedicated ladies to join their group in support of United Cerebral Palsy of San Diego.

arclineaArclinea's midtown showroom was the final site of the 2nd international culinary marathon, "Italia In Cucina", that spanned the globe from Auckland to Tuscany to San Diego. Celebrating with Italy's Ministry of Agriculture, renowned chefs highlighted the Mediterranean Diet, recently awarded World Heritage status by UNESCO. Guests commingled over kitchen fresh, healthy and delicious food paired with luscious wine and yummy dessert to top off the night.

lawyersThe Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, an organization of trial lawyers in which works to preserve and protect the legal rights of consumers, held its annual awards dinner. Honorees included John Gomez and Senator Darrell Steinberg among others at this event held at The US Grant Hotel. Guests bid on exciting items to help raise funds for the CASD foundation while mingling with their colleagues.

sulpizioThe University of California, San Diego celebrated the grand opening of the Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center with a black-tie gala. In honor of all who gave their time and resources, the fete included an evening of dinner, dancing and a special performance by Tony Award-winning actress and singer Patti LuPone. Doctors and donors alike had the opportunity to tour the beautiful state-of-the-art facility.

salvation-armyThe Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary proudly honored fifteen San Diego women for their dedication to serving the community at the Annual Women of Dedication Luncheon. Yvonne Larsen and Chris Andrews, a fabulous Mother-Daughter team, co-chaired the 46th annual event with over seven hundred people gathered to commemorate these outstanding women among them Vicki Eddy, Reena Horowitz and Lynn Wheeler, among many more.
