The International Children's Cancer Foundation is a non-profit charity of San Diego created to support the Oncologic Pediatric Center in Tijuana. The organization supports pediatric cancer treatment center that treats the poorest of children with cancer in Baja California. Their first annual benefit dinner titled Wonders of Baja was held in a beautiful home in La Jolla bringing together 14 artists for the art auction, 4 wineries and 5 chefs from Baja. Tania Luviano was the mistress of ceremonies for the dinner attended by over three hundred people.
Food, fashion show and mingling amongst friends were among the many things which took place at The Grand Hotel in Tijuana with the purpose to raise funds and present fashion from the season. Veronica Bustamante organized a grand event where many women from Tijuana modeled high-end clothing all for a good cause.

San Diego oldest charity, The San Diego Center for Children, held its 123rd anniversary celebration fundraiser at the US Grant Hotel. The organization is dedicated to helping children whose trauma, abuse, emotional challenges or mental health issues delayed their educational or community success. Gala chairs Elizabeth Oliver and Doreen Schonbrun organized live and silent auctions as well as a festive evening to help the children.
Every year beautiful girls from Northern Baja California compete to become Queen of Monterrey Institute of Technology to raise funds for scholarships. One of the many events they produce was at the home of Maria Elvia Hank where a grandiose luncheon amongst friends, family and supporters. The previous Queen from Tijuana as well as this year's princess were in attendance.
Lights, water, music, fire and animation came together like never before as "World of Color" made its dazzling debut at Disney's California Adventure. The show is choreographed with revolutionary technology that creates a playful, nighttime spectacular and a new way for guests to experience Disney stories – from the charming to the adventurous. The show combines nearly 1,200 powerful fountains, popular Disney music and an all-new kaleidoscope of audio and visual effects, including both classic and new animation projected on massive screens of water making for a great way to end a warm summer day. The star studded event was attended by celebrities such as Pepe Aguilar, Jamie Lee Curtis, John Stamos, the bachelor Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi, Geena Davis, Jason Segal, Teri Hatcher and Vanessa Hudgens making this another spectacular Disney premiere.
Various golf players came together for the 24th Rotary Club of Tijuana Golf Tournament at the Campestre Country Club. The objective of the golf tournament is raising funds for non-profits and in this occasion the main project is the construction of workshops for adults and teenagers with mental incapacities. They golfers enjoyed the tournament and read copies of GB.
C.J. Charles Jewelers of La Jolla partnered with Cartier to present their new collection of timepieces at a private dinner at La Valencia Hotel. Connoisseurs and collectors tried on some of the finest watches in the world, many classic designs in new variations of palladium, ceramics and with sporty accents. These unique creations, some of which can only be found at C.J. Charles, were worn by the guests at dinner, and then straight to their new homes.
A luncheon was organized to announce a two-day celebration of Rancho La Puerta's 70 years of leadership, imagination and prescience in the wellness movement. Bill Moyers will be joined by co-chairs Sheila and Jeffrey Lipinsky at this symposium taking place in September entitled The Sun, The Butterfly and The Dove which will promote the foundation that helps the environment and ecology of Tecate promoting sustainable farming amongst local families.
Hundreds of people attended the Promises2Kids' Summer Concert Gala at the private estate of Joan Waitt. The event featured a dinner and an unplugged performance by four-time Grammy Award winner Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo. Event co-chairs Ann and Ben Haddad with guests are helping raise money toward fighting the cycle of child abuse.
